Yelena Filipchuk thrives in the creative process. Before HYBYCOZO Yelena was at Google and YouTube, where she facilitated partnerships and worked with musicians and artists to enforce their copyright and get paid for their videos to the platform. Yelena currently lives in San Francisco developing her craft and growing her practice as an artist, entrepreneur, and educator.
Serge Beaulieu is a veteran Industrial Designer, graphic artist, and maker. Having spent a decade at numerous Design Studios, including Yves Behar’s Fuseproject, Serge put aside industrial design to explore art and sculpture and hasn’t looked back. A native of Canada, Serge now resides in the Bay Area exploring the wonders of geometry.
While it seemed that most people around them in the Bay Area were moving toward more digital pursuits, Yelena and Serge felt compelled to switch gears from their tech jobs to make real world objects. Hoping to capture some of the wonder and curiosity that sparked their love of geometric patterns and art, Yelena and Serge began to study everything from ancient Islamic tiles to the patterns created by particle physicists when modeling the unified field theory.
The constant theme that arose was that the appearance of beauty within naturally occurring harmonic relationships and patterns in the natural world. The work thrives at art and music festivals, galleries, as interior design pieces, in urban environments, or as landscape elements
